Waireinga Bridal Veil Falls

Waireinga Bridal Veil Falls features on our #nzmustdo waterfalls destination. Misty spray from the curtain of water dropping into the pool below is beautiful. Wairēinga Bridal Veil Falls is a great bush walk through native forest. Beautiful photo moments at the falls, an instagram favourite. Nearby is the mountain bike trail into the Pirongia Forest Park.

Mt Karioi Track

The Karioi track from Te Toto Gorge car park offers fantastic views of the rugged west coast, north towards the Manukau Heads. Looking south on a clear day, you can see the four peaks of Mt Tongariro, Mt Ngauruhoe, Mt Ruapehu and Mt Taranaki

Taking a day trip to Kawhia you will pass the Department of Conservation sign posts indicating the start of the walk in the Te Toto Gorge.

Wainui Bush Park Reserve – Raglan walks

Raglan Estuary Boardwalk & footbridge

Explore the estuary from the vantage point of the attractive boardwalk shaded by massive pohutukawa trees. The perfect point to take a seat and enjoy the sights and sounds of the estuary with kids padding, teenagers water bombing from the jetty and the option of a sunset harbour cruise.

Pirongia Forest Park

Pirongia Forest is a lesser known Department of Conservation walking area with native bush, forest and summit views from Mount Pirongia. Raglan makes a great option as a base for walking holidays. Raglan is approximately 48 km drive from Pironga.
