Mona Vale Gardens

Mona Vale Gardens @Festistmirmhycz

On the fringe of the city centre in the suburb of Fendalton, five hectares of  lawns and gardens surround the historic heritage homestead of Mona Vale. The homestead, built in 1899 is closed at present due to earthquake repairs.  The gardens reflect planting styles of the early twentieth century with an extensive collection of rhododendrons, camellias, and magnolias as well as a rose garden, shade house and greenhouses.  Through the summer months punts also are available on the Avon.  The best time to visit Mona Vale Gardens is early to late spring.

  • Open 7am until dusk (9pm in Summer, 5pm Winter)
  • Admission is free
