  • Church Hill Gardens, Piki Mai surround Christ Church Cathedral (Anglican) with a range of exotic trees and planting. The Provincial Government funded the initial purchase of trees and benefactors have contributed to the woodland features
  • Sequoias are found throughout the garden
  • Phoenix palms, a favourite of English style public gardens flanks the granite Cawthron steps leading down to Trafalgar St. The palms were planted in the 1940’s
  • Look for English oaks with underplantings of camellias and rhododendrons thriving in the cool shaded conditions.
