Motueka Beach Reserve & Saltwater Baths

Motueka, New Zealand

Motueka is a popular beach side holiday destination with its cafes, art & craft community combined with the top notch beaches in the vicinity.

  • The quirk of Motueka Beach Reserve is the vintage feel to the public salt water baths adjoining the beach.
  • Motueka Beach Reserve in turn links to the Trewavas Street Foreshore reserve giving visitors continuous access to the coastline.

There are toilets, barbecues, picnic tables and a children’s play area dotted throughout the reserves. The popular MOTUEKA SALTWATER BATHS are also accessed from here and there is plenty of space for car parking.

Visitors have over seven hectares so there is plenty of space to throw down your beach towel, games, picnicking, swimming or just relaxing under a beach umbrella.

Find out more about the Abel Tasman National Park and what to do in nearby Nelson. Nelson is arguably the top New Zealand summer destination with wine trails, farmers markets and galleries. The icing on the cake is the scenic glory of the Abel Tasman National Park.

Motueka beach is one of Nelson’s top beaches.

Don’t worry you do not need to pick a favourite beach. There is plenty of space to go around at the Abel Tasman National Park beaches and Nelson beaches beyond the National Park. In fact our editor is mulling over the idea, the best beach is the one we visited yesterday with tomorrow a promise of another gem in the Nelson best beach category.
