Kauri Point jetty offers dedicated beach goers a gloriously photogenic wharf to jump off. Follow the walking trails to quiet gems on the peninsula part of the Tauranga Harbour. Kauri Point, Ongare Point, and Tuapiro Point are all located on the same peninsula in the Tauranga Harbour, north of Katikati. A walkway along the coastal reserve joins Kauri Point and Ongare Point, and continues along the full length of both small settlements. There is little shade as the walks are in open countryside. The track is 4 km, on a firm shared pathway.
TIP
While Katikati is predominantly not a beachside destination, the picture postcard village is within a whistle stop of Waihi Beach (20 km).
