Another classic 1950’s vision of a beach holiday with a few baches and a tiny grocery store. It is another photographer’s haunt for its white crystal sand and canopy of gnarly Pohutukawa trees. There are cliff headlands at either end of the beach. While there are surf lifeguards in the summer season the beach’s steep slope creates a solid beach break resulting in sometimes dangerous swimming conditions.
