Albert Park

Start in the urban heart of Auckland, the city centre and climb to historic Albert Park and the university grounds. Transverse beautiful Auckland Domain park and onto the summit of Mount Eden. Enjoy sweeping views of the Hauraki Gulf and city. The third section starts at an urban working farm, Cornwall Park, with new born lambs and calves a treat between July and September With over 350 species of trees and over 30 species of birds, this park makes for a wonderful nature escape. You have the option of climbing the summit of Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill for panoramic views of Auckland from its highest point. You drop down into the Victorian suburb of Onehunga following ancient lava flows to the Manakau Harbour and the end of the walk.

The day walk can be split into three sections.

NOTE

This is a one way walk; arrange to be collected at the end of the walk or check for up to date information about public transport, Onehunga is the terminus for the city rail system and Manauka Bridge suburb is connected by public bush.
