GROVE SCENIC RESERVE, TAKAKA Golden Bay short walk
The reserve is small. Yet the combination of weathered enormous limestone slabs, native Rata tree tentacles wound around the rocks stirs the sense of adventure.
TIP
Great selfie spot from the panoramic viewing platform. Extending from the rock face at the end of the track, the viewing platform takes in the sights of the open plains and beaches in the lower Takaka Valley.
This is a great walk for families as it is imaginative yet easy to walk. The narrow clefts in the towering slabs opens out to a lookout with its sweeping view of Golden Bay and the ocean beyond. This is a Department of Conservation managed reserve; no dogs allowed.

GROVE SCENIC RESERVE, TAKAKA GOLDEN BAY LOCATION
The Grove Scenic Reserve is about 8 km east of Takaka. At Clifton, turn off Abel Tasman Drive into Clifton Road, then into Rocklands Road. There is a small car park and picnic area about 1 km from Clifton.
