Tinline Bay is one of the first beaches visitors will arrive at when walking the Abel Tasman Coastal Track in a northward direction. Just a few kilometres from the Harvey Road car park, you’ll find a small sandy beach, Tinline Bay with a fascinating natural quirk.
And it’s not #thatwanakatree rather a lone pine on a rock. Nature has artfully sculptured the rock to showcase the pine’s tenacious grip on the rock.
The tree has self-seeded on a granite rock with a gold sandy beach acting as a decorative backdrop.
Investigate how to get there in Best Walks in the Abel Tasman National Park. Let the excitement build as you explore the Abel Tasman for yourself. Your walk starts at the southern entrance to the Park at Marahau.
Tinline Bay campsite has toilets and a rolling lawn leading to the beach. Tinline Bay camping grounds are not located on the beach rather several metres up the hillside. The small campsite at Tinline Bay has 15 non-powered tent sites.
Striding onwards northwards to Bark Bay, stop awhile and snap a photo of the #thattinlinepine for holiday memories.
