Warren Cole and River Edge Shared Pathway

Explore the footsteps of many on the riverside trail. It is a fully sealed shared pathway. Watch the Pacific Ocean swells jostle with the Whakatane River mouth. Upriver are Whakatane wharves where cruise boats depart. The Whakatāne River is the point of departure for most oceangoing activities in the area, including fishing charters and tours to Moutohora Island. Salt marshes, in the middle of the track are great bird watching spots.
