Takaka’s scenic attraction, Labyrinth rocks park is a natural maze of karst limestone rocks. Contorted shapes, tunnels and rocky passageways add to the maze’s charm. There are a number of toys that have been ‘left’ behind providing kids with location markers in the maze. Labyrinth Rocks is approximately 2 km from the Takaka’s town centre.
Labyrinth Rocks is free to enter, and in parts is slightly overgrown adding to the atmospheric conditions.
The maze takes between 10 minutes to 30 minutes to complete. The rocks offer shade during the hotter summer months and an activity that is popular with the kids. Whether you choose to stay for 15 minutes or for an hour, the short walk offers surprises at every turn.
