Origins
Beginning in 1989 as a car boot sale fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Riccarton, the Market has enabled the Rotary Club of Riccarton to put in over $3,000,000 back into the community. And the tradition continues with a number of classic car boot sales marketing everything for everyone.

Riccarton Sunday Market location is the Riccarton Park Racecourse.
For over 150 years the Canterbury Jockey Club has been at the forefront of New Zealand racing conducting some of the most prestigious races in the country. Riccarton Park is home to 24 race days each season in Christchurch with highlights including the New Zealand Cup Meeting in November, Grand National (Jumps Racing) in August and the Autumn Racing Carnival.
