An imposing English style country house, Pah House set on the hill in Monte Cecilia Park is an imposing sight. Pah House is home to an outstanding collection of New Zealand art and cafe overlooking the park. Monte Cecilia, Hillsborough Auckland is a local hot spot for dog walkers and joggers.

Pah Homestead, sculpture collection and gallery supports emerging and New Zealand artists. The cafe in Pah House is a great place for a leisurely lunch overlooking the park. The adjoining public park, Monte Cecilia Park is a welcoming family public space for throwing a frisbee or an impromptu game of cricket. The Victorian designed landscape has an outstanding collection of mature trees for summer shade with stunning views of Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill) and Mangere Mountain. Enjoy a stroll walk through a Victorian designed landscape setting. While the perimeter walks are suitable for all some sections of the path are gravel and uphill (depending on your direction).

Monte Cecilia House was established in 1982 by the St Vincent de Paul Society, Liston Foundation, the Sisters of Mercy and the Marist Brothers. The original purpose was to provide emergency housing and practical assistance to families.

How to access Monte Cecilia Park

  • Pedestrian access – 24 hours
  • Wheelchair access – The paths surrounding the Pa Homestead are flat and provide an accessible loop around, and access into the Pa Homestead building.
  • Sealed access road – The park can be accessed from Hillsborough Road
