The adjoining public park, Monte Cecilia Park is a welcoming family public space for throwing a frisbee or an impromptu game of cricket. The Victorian designed landscape has an outstanding collection of mature trees for summer shade with stunning views of Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill) and Mangere Mountain. Enjoy a stroll walk through a Victorian designed landscape setting. While the perimeter walks are suitable for all some sections of the path are gravel and uphill (depending on your direction).

Monte Cecilia House was established in 1982 by the St Vincent de Paul Society, Liston Foundation, the Sisters of Mercy and the Marist Brothers. The original purpose was to provide emergency housing and practical assistance to families.
