Thousands of roses from standard, climbing and prostrate forms. The trellised 90 metre arbour is a prominent feature of the rose garden.

Thirty Thousand Club
Formed 1913 to promote Napier as a place to live. The club has raised funds for:
- Soundshell and skating rink
- Colonnade
- Pania of the Reef sculpture
- Tom Parker synchronised foundation and display of coloured lights.
- Floral clock (donated by Hurst family)

Floral clock is a favourite selfie location.
INTERESTING FACT
Pania, the bronze sculpture is solidly cemented into her base after being stolen in 2005. There is continual debate about the representation of a Maori ‘maiden’ and its colonial messaging.
