Lathams Hill track

The walk starts with a comfortable ascent over rolling farmland, through native bush to the trig station. There you can enjoy superb views over the Rangitaiki Plains. The main track ends at the trig station. There is a side track, with a steep descent to the Awakeri Hot Spring. It is recommended families return on the same track at this point. The descent to the Awakeri Hot Springs is steep and sections of the walk involve walking on the side of a busy road, State Highway 30. There is a small car park available.
