The lake is a New Plymouth outdoor favourite place due to its accessibility on the coastal walkway. Lake Rotomanu offers lake, river and beach swimming (Fitzroy beach). The easy short walking loop is 2.6 km with views of Te Rewa Rewa bridge and Mount Taranaki.
