Heritage buffs

  • National War Memorial Museum ( 2 hours), Auckland Art Gallery (2 hours) lunch in one of the many city cafes. Afternoon Howick Historical Village
  • Afternoon ferry to Devonport / lunch in cafes, wander heritage Devonport and visit Naval Museum

Rangitoto Island, Auckland

Adventure Buffs

  • Bungy off sky tower and climb the Harbour Bridge (morning)
  • Kayak to Rangitoto Island and climb the summit for panoramic views of the harbour and city (afternoon)
  • Skydive over the Kaipara Harbour or visit

Family fun

  • Rangitoto Island cruise to a recently erupted volcano (600 years ago)
  • Auckland War Memorial museum has plenty of kids focused activities and there is a good gift shop with reasonably priced souvenirs for the kids collection
  • Hop on & hop off bus is a superb way to get around without the need of a rental vehicle

TIP

You do not have a rental car, use Hop on / Hop off Auckland bus.
