Highlights of the day
It is a very special moment when we introduce visitors to the concept of the forest of memories. Instead of memorial plaques in a cemetery, living trees foster comfort for grieving family and friends. Then it’s on to a museum where you feel you’ve just walked into a nineteenth century parlour.
The day is complete with a delicious lunch at a Hawkes Bay original vineyard and winery, Mission Estate. It’s a pleasure to wander through the heritage monastic estate with a monk / vintner explaining the importance of wine making as a viable way to support the Catholic church in its new home of New Zealand.
