A scenic drive brings you to Kororipo Heritage Park – steeped in history, this is culturally and historically one of the most important sites in Aotearoa New Zealand. The nineteenth century witnessed cultural interaction from reciprocal trading relationships profiting both parties to armed conflict about land ownership and the rights of the traditional owners. Te Waimate Mission – New Zealand’s second oldest building narrates a story of missionary activities interlaced with farming and architecture nineteenth century practices.
