A hidden gem for beach fossicking. Porangahau Beach is primarily known for surfing and beach sailing. The breezy nature of the beach creates a wild atmosphere. Go for an invigorating beach walk rather than braving the undercurrents The nearby settlement has a pub, cafe and general store. Horse races are held on the beach at Easter and Blo Karts catch the seabreezes there all year round. The beach stretches for kilometres creating plenty of space consequently does not feel crowded.
