Mangakuri Beach

@Hawke's Bay NZ

A rustic back to nature beach down a gravel road is definitely to relax and revive. The hidden gem is a reward for not worrying if there is no mobile service. Mangakuri is close to Kairakau Beach. The white sand, headlands and charm of a beach without amenities and very few people is timeless. Mangakuri’s European settlement period and missionary activity is evident with the evocative lonely vigil of the Mangakuri Station Chapel & belfry; a Historic Place Category 2 building and heritage listed. There is no public access to the church sitting out time in the paddock surrounded by sheep. Mangakuri Station Homestead, a private home is nearby. For more about the church origins check WILLIAMS CHURCHES | williams4 and Mangakuri (Farm).
