The best time to visit the Barossa, South Australia is in the shoulder visitor seasons of spring and early autumn. Autumn means harvesting. Winter is bare vines, rain yet the solitude means no crowds. Check if cellar doors are open in the winter (June to mid-September).

Barossa is in the enviable position of a location a mere 65 km from Adelaide’s city centre. There are over 150 wineries to pick with two farmers markets. For family and friends not enthusiastic about wineries there are balloon adventures to try out.

The most popular way to visit the Barossa wineries is by joining a day tour from Adelaide. Comfort and ease of transport as Adelaide Metro does not have a bus route between Adelaide and Barossa.
