The Macedon Regional Park is wrapped around Mt Macedon, the highest peak. The extinct volcanic Mt Macedon is 1,010 metres above sea level.

- Birding. The steep and dense forests are home to thriving communities of wrens and yellow robins while crimson rosellas, king parrots and gang gang cockatoos are often found in the park’s picnic areas and open spaces

Macedon Regional Park #mustdo is a short exhilarating, energetic walk to Camels Hump. The Camels Hump is the second highest point in the range offering great views of Hanging Rock.
