Bendigo talking tram, vintage glory as you slowly amble past key attractions. It’s a perfect 19th century touch of glamour. Highly recommended for first time visitors you hop on the tram and relax. You will hear an informed commentary of attractions at the five route stops.
BENDIGO VINTAGE TALKING TRAM KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Deborah Gold Mine, a must do adventure exploring original gold mine tunnels. Your tram ticket gives visitors complimentary access to the surface workshops at the Deborah Gold Mine.
- Charing Cross (Alexandra Fountain) stop is where the Victorian, ornate Alexandra Fountain is a distinctive landmark. The foundation was opened by two of Queen Victoria’s grandsons, a mark of the wealth of the gold mining industry.
- Bendigo Tramways Depot (tram museum) is a collection of historic trams and a workshop dedicated to the upkeep of Bendigo trams. There is a cafe and small gift onsite.
- Lake Weeroona, Nolan St is a park for all age groups with playgrounds, ducks to feed, cafes and walking tracks. It is a favourite for locals to exercise and congregate.
Bendigo’s Joss House Temple (Finn St) is the Chinese Dragon Museum location. The Chinese miners, at the peak, were one in five males (1850’s) was Chinese.
Their stories and other immigrants can be read at Many Roads: Chinese on the Goldfields. The Golden Dragon Museum celebrates the area’s Chinese heritage through artefacts and artwork.
Free all-day parking is available at each tram stop, except within the CBD (Tram Stop No. 2).

When visiting please ensure that your dog is on a lead at all times and is kind towards other passengers throughout the journey. Entry is at the discretion of the Tram Driver and Conductor.
