Bowentown offers visitors magnificent views on walking tracks over the headlands to sheltered coves where there are few visitors. TUAPIRO RESERVE is a small sandspit with views of the inner harbour. It is a shorebird and estuary hot spot. There are toilets and a carpark. Another coastal area to explore is the ATHENREE WETLANDS LOOP WALK through saltmarsh where fernbirds and australasian bittern find a home.
